We have examined accounts of shipwrecks, airplane crashes, mountain climbing expeditions, polar exploration, and other situations that demand exceptional performance. From our research on these groups, we have identified principles and tools that can be applied in any challenging environment. Through our study of The Edge, we have drawn lessons that will enable leaders and teams to reach their greatest potential.
